Yomara Stephanie Mendez

Yomara Stephanie Mendez  is a current first year medical student at the David Geffen School of Medicine,University of California Los Angeles. She previously worked as a basic science surgical research assistant at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital, where she focused on the development of a therapeutic intervention against necrotizing enterocolitis. Additionally, she was a volunteer at the Coachella Valley Volunteers in Medicine where she assisted in bringing medical resources to underserved communities in the Coachella Valley. Yomara is passionate about health equity/accessibility both locally and globally and hopes to continue to advocate for equitable health throughout and after medical school.
