Global Pediatric Specialist Alliance recently joined SIMS Loma Linda University on a trip to the Children’s Hospital in Yerevan, Armenia. The team met the local pediatric surgeons, reviewed their complex cases, and began planning the next surgical mission for July 2027.
The visit built a working relationship with the Yerevan surgical team. It also set the framework for bringing learners, from students to fellows, on future missions. The team reviewed complex cases with the Yerevan pediatric surgeons, which shaped the clinical focus of the next mission. These discussions let both groups compare approaches and identify the patients who would benefit most from visiting-team support.
The next surgical mission to the Children’s Hospital in Yerevan is targeted for July 2027, with GPSA involved in planning alongside the local surgeons.
